Team Member Biographies
With an internal staff of 15 professionals operating the Ceres-based headquarters and a Southern California division, California Living & Energy's Leadership Team consists of four professionals:
William Lilly, President
Bill Lilly first entered the energy-conservation industry in 1976, when he
started working with Weathermaster Insulation providing energy-efficient
design work for an array of different structures from refrigeration buildings
to residential subdivisions. After subsequent years of career growth,
Mr. Lilly left Weathercaster in 1981, which would turn out to be right
in the middle of the worst recession since The Great Depression, and started
his own insulation-contracting firm, which went onto insulate millions of square
feet of walls, ceilings and floors in existing homes. Over time, his firm grew to
a point where larger insulation contractors became interested in acquiring his company.
The company's insulation component was sold in 1988 to Western Insulation, which was
subsequently purchased by MASCO Corporation, all the while Mr. Lilly retained ownership
of the energy calculations division that would later become a part of Mr. Lilly's other company - California Living & Energy.
During this period, Mr. Lilly secured his contractor's license in three separate designations: general, mechanical and insulation.
For California Living & Energy, it has since grown into an industry leader in both service and stature by providing energy calculations
throughout California, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico. Over time, California Living & Energy has broadened its scope of services by
expanding into engineered mechanical design and HERS inspection as well as providing liability-reducing risk management programs for
builders. California Living & Energy has produced more than $1 million in HERS testing revenue annually.
Mr. Lilly is a certified Calcerts and Resnet Rater, Resnet Green Rater and Certified CHEERS Energy Analyst. He is on the board of
directors of CalHERS, a rater support organization, and Teen Challenge, a prisoner support ministry. He is also a National Comfort
Institute certified air balance inspector. In 2009, Mr. Lilly was invited to give a presentation on green assessments for multi-family
public housing communities at two United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) conferences in California.
Mr. Lilly brings a wealth of experience and education in the practical aspect of energy conversation, and by launching two companies
amidst recession, he has proven his leadership ability.
California Living & Energy has two offices in California, Lake Elsinore in Southern California and Ceres in Northern California
